While working as a carer, I noticed that many people were struggling to stay in their homes due to a lack of home care support and that when they did find that support, it was often fragmented and they didn’t get to build relationships with the people supporting them. That’s why I established Michael Rgis Care.I manage a small group of highly experienced and trained carers, and we are all ready to help you or your loved one with a wide range of support at home.We can help with any care needs, to wash and dress, cook and clean, going out in the community or any other support that you need and in the way that you want to be supported.We work flexibly at the times that suit you daily, weekly or 24 hours and being a small team of regular carers we can offer punctuality, continuity and guarantee that you will be supported by the same carer consistently.

Throughout my 15+ years working in the local community I’ve become very familiar with the challenges that people with dementia and their families face. This led me to research different approaches and to complete the Montessori for Dementia training, which transformed my approach to dementia care. I believe that patience, time and specialist knowledge is essential to providing true person-centred care for people with dementia. My focus is on what people ‘Can Do’ and encouraging independence, giving freedom of choice about their daily life and the things that are important to them. Knowing the people I support on a deep level and building strong relationships based on trust and understanding is very important to me. My goal is simple, to make life easier, more meaningful and reassuring for those I care for and their loved ones.

I am good at problem solving hence my love of flat pack assembly and of finding practical solutions, for example sourcing and installing key safe systems. I can also help you or your loved one with minor repairs around the house and garden, decluttering, organising and more. I’m very sociable, enjoy a good chat and putting the world to rights so I also offer companionship services – from having a cup of tea and playing a game at home to going out to social events and activities.
